Girl Scouting is alive and active at
Immaculate Conception Grade School.
Some activities that our troops participate in:
•Earning our religious medals
•Cooking & serving dinner at PADS
•Caroling to the IC Homebound
•Camping and outdoor activities
•Skiing, snow tubing, tobogganing
•Making dinner for the IC priests
•Making Valentine’s for seniors
•Swimming
•Honoring our veterans with service projects
•Making friendships that will last a lifetime
•Selling cookies (of course!)
Religious Medals for Girl Scouts
Family of God – Grades 2-3
I Live My Faith – Grades 4-6
Mary, the First Disciple – Grades 7-10
The Spirit Alive – Grades 9-12
Girls are encouraged to work on these medals at home
or with their troop. Girls that have earned a religious
medal are recognized at the annual IC Scout Mass, held
the first Saturday in February. More information is available at www.nccgscf.org.
The heart of Girl Scouting is the partnership created when adults facilitate activities to help girls learn how to voice their opinions, plan their own activities, make decisions, and take action. Through this process, girls direct the government of their own troop/group and
develop leadership and management skills they will need as adults. Girls learn to voice their choices about activities, finances, trips, and program opportunities and often decide their plans by voting. Volunteers make a difference in a girl's life. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and completed Protecting God’s Children. They may be women or men, parents or non-parents, and may be working or not.
